The much-anticipated second season of the adult animated musical series Hazbin Hotel debuts on the streaming platform soon, and audience theories has been widespread.
Season 1 presents a diverse group of personalities living within the afterlife, pits them against each other with musical numbers detailing their conflicts, and establishes heated competitions and emotional bonds that drive fan obsession.
The community's expectations for season 2 vary widely, but certain threads recur frequently: Will Angel Dust escape his tormentor? Will we find out more about the mysterious "deal" affecting Alastor the Radio Demon? Will [favorite character] and [other character] finally get together?
"Naturally, I don't produce the show with audience demands specifically in mind," the creator stated earlier this year. "But I believe that me being a fan of my own show implies there's a lot of it just naturally. I also want to see these things, and I want some of these things to occur, and obviously some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"
The creator says her big-picture plan is for five seasons of Hazbin Hotel. Seasons 3 and 4 have already been green-lit by the production companies, which produce the series.
That might mean viewers have to be patient for some of the major resolutions — but they may be surprised at how quickly season 2 moves, and how many of what they're anticipating happens this season.
"I feel like people are going to get a lot out of it," the creator notes. "There are several debut moments. I think we receive some really amazing reveals, some fascinating origin tales, and even basic elements, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] We're going to hear additional musical numbers from the characters we didn't get to hear before."
She's certainly aware of the theories and desires about season 2 — particularly in the form of fan bingo cards.
"I've seen a couple people create a prediction grid about the new season," she mentions. "Obviously I won't share it, but I've actually done some of them, and almost all of them have almost a bingo. I was like, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that makes me think we do a lot [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I was like, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that makes me happy."
Hazbin Hotel season 2 premieres on the streaming service on October 29.
